The Tamil Speaking Union is a parastatal body under the aegis of the Ministry of Arts and Cultural Heritage. It was created according to Act No. 24 of 2008 and came into operation in year 2009. Actually Tamil Speaking Union is governed by Act No. 23 of 2015.
PREAMBLE
Tamil language is recognised as one of the oldest and richest languages across the globe. It is spoken by over a hundred million people over the world.
VISION
To promote Tamil language in its Spoken and Written forms at regional and national level aided by value added technologies.
MISSION
To work in collaboration with National and International educational institutions, to promote and disseminate the values and richness of the Tamil language in its Spoken and Written forms.
